Kentucky — Kentucky state employment veterans’ preference

KRS 18A.150 preference. Checking “served in the military” on the job application is not enough — send DD-214 (Member 4 or Service 2) or listed equivalent to the Personnel Cabinet before a register goes to the hiring agency. Once on file, preference stays active. Fax 502-564-0512 or mail Stuart Clark, Applicant, Veterans and Recruitment Assistance Branch, 501 High Street, 1st Floor, Frankfort, KY 40601. Disabled veterans also send VA service-connected verification.

Bring. DD-214 Member 4 or Service 2 (honorable/general), or NGB-22/55/56. Disabled: VA service-connected letter.
